What is Holga?
A Holga camera is a type of medium format film camera that is known for its low-fi aesthetic, including vignetting, light leaks, and blurry images. Some might see those qualities as technical limitations but I don't. I love its unique, dreamlike quality that can add a sense of nostalgia, mystery, or whimsy to the images it produces.
The imperfections and unpredictability of the Holga's images can also be seen as a rejection of the perfect, digital images that dominate contemporary photography, and a return to the playful experimentation and happy accidents of analog photography. Personally, I use the Holga camera to further my practice in Zen Photography which is showcased below.
